Pangea Day
February 5th, 2008First off, let’s introduce “We Recommend,” a new category we’ll be filtering news into. It’s pretty simple: if we have something non-IC related to show you, we’ll put it here. Books, music, movies, etc., we want to give you a taste of our tastes.
For our inaugural post, we’re recommending an event and it’s called Pangea Day, a live videoconference taking place around the world on May 10th, 2008. Organized by acclaimed documentary filmmaker and TED award winner Jehane Noujaim, Pangea Day “taps the power of film to strengthen tolerance and compassion while uniting millions of people to build a better future.” A 4-hour program of “powerful films, visionary speakers, and uplifting music” will be streamed to the Internet, television, digital cinemas, and mobile phones.
Up until February 15th, they’ll be accepting short films to be featured throughout the event. Check out the website for more details.
