Oh, Canada!
March 25th, 2008For the first time, Invisible Children is hitting up Canada. Yes, you heard that right -
for our next national tour, we’re going international. Starting this fall, we’ll be crossing the border and we need a lot of help. If you’re interested in being part of the first group bringing the story to Canada, email Matt Wood at mwood@invisiblechildren.com. Whether you can help book some venues or even hook us up with relatives and friends of Canadian blood; we want it all, eh?

I have seen the information about IC but I wonder why this organization does not include, as one key factor of in any analysis of peace and war, the economic variable, and the economic inequalities among countries in the world. I tried to send this comment to the IC website but it did not work.
Please, let me know.
thanks.

I feel that IC has been pretty intentional about the economic factor. In fact, isn’t their whole bracelet program an effort towards addressing the economic disparity between the north and south. Albeit, only a fraction of people will benefit but it’s a start. And the Schools for Schools program seems aimed at raising the standard of education which is positively correlated with a higher economic standard. I’d say that their efforts towards better educational opportunities will be the genesis of economic improvement.
