IC on Facebook

September 16th, 2008

Starting last week, paired with the new Schools for Schools campaign, IC has launched a Facebook application to keep you updated on what’s going on.

We have 500,000 supporters on Causes, but now it’s time to truly make our presence known across Facebook.

For this Fall, Schools for Schools is the featured news. While you’re getting all of your friends to sign up, you can track what’s going on at your partner school in northern Uganda, and see how your school is doing
in their fundraising.

And for the first time, you’ll be able to see first hand where your money is going. Our application will have short films featuring Ugandan students showing you around their schools.

Sign up for the Invisible Children application, and recruit your friends, too. The end of this 20+ year war is near, and your schools are making a huge difference in the lives of these students.

The question remains the same: How far will you GO?

Stories from the Road

September 9th, 2008

As you might know by now, we have a tour going on, which means that one of a dozen IC vans is coming to a city near you. In the meantime, here’s a quote from Kyle Lederer - IC Mountain West Team.

“I got pulled over yesterday for failing to turn on my turn signal (oops) and ended up selling the officer two shirts and a Rough Cut! How awesome is that?!?!”

Lessons to be learned:

(1) Use your turn signal.
or
(2) Don’t use your turn signal, and tell the cop about Invisible Children!

How far would you GO?

September 9th, 2008

Okay, so posting entries on the blog once a week is definitely not what we aim for. We’re working on getting you more information in here, because we are definitely appreciative of everyone who stops by to catch up on what’s going on.

In case you missed the announcement from last week, Invisible Children’s new film is GO and it had its premiere on Sunday. Thanks to everyone who showed up to help make it a success.

NOW, it’s time to buy the film and show it to family and friends. The stories you saw need to be passed on, and we’re counting on you to do that. The GO DVD is on sale at the IC Store.

You can also see the film by attending one of the 1000 screenings happening over the next few months. Find out more about the national tour by checking out the website.

Thanks. (And seriously, we’re working on bringing you more and more IC news in here. Let us know if you have any suggestions.)
