INTERNSHIP AT INVISIBLE CHILDREN IN UGANDA

Spring 2009: In Progress
Summer 2009: Go Internship CLOSED
Fall 2009: TBD

The GO Internship provides professional opportunities for motivated individuals to contribute toward Invisible Children's mission for development in Uganda and facilitate first-hand experiences that promote cultural understanding.

Invisible Children is looking for highly motivated and talented people who desire to intern with Invisible Children in northern Uganda. Simply put, this four-month, internship will give you a chance to directly experience life in Uganda and use your skills and experiences to benefit the community. You can expect to learn the challenges and excitements of working for a dynamic, young non-profit like Invisible Children, as well as gain an enormous amount of cross-cultural and real-world experience and responsibility.

During your internship you’ll be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and will be placed in a role specific to your qualifications. You’ll be trained, coached, and mentored by the staff in Uganda. This training will consist of learning the Invisible Children history, mission statement, and current programs, as well as your direct responsibilities. You will also attend cross-cultural seminars that involve language classes and the dos and don’ts of the Acholi culture. This program can be tailored to fit the syllabi for several different university courses or just aid in your personal and professional growth.

The GO Internship will not be offered during the Summer 2009 session. Positions for the Fall 2009 session will be determined and posted at a later date. Check back for updates!
