Spring 2009: Applications Coming Soon
The GO Internship provides professional opportunities for motivated individuals to contribute toward Invisible Children's mission for development in Uganda and facilitate first-hand experiences that promote cultural understanding.
Invisible Children is looking for highly motivated and talented people who desire to intern with Invisible Children in northern Uganda. Simply put, this three-month, internship will give you a chance to directly experience life in Uganda and use your skills and experiences to benefit the community. You can expect to learn the challenges and excitements of working for a dynamic, young non-profit like Invisible Children, as well as gain an enormous amount of cross-cultural and real-world experience and responsibility.
During your internship you’ll be expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and will be placed in a job specific to your qualifications. You’ll be trained, coached, and mentored by the staff in Uganda. This training will consist of learning the Invisible Children history, mission statement, current programs, and financial accountability, as well as your direct responsibilities. You will also attend cross-cultural seminars that involve language classes and the dos and don’ts of the Acholi culture. This program can be tailored to fit the syllabi for several different university courses or just aid in your personal and professional growth.
The application process for the Fall 2008 internship is closed. Applications for the Spring 2009 Internship will be available soon.
