I'm ready to help!

Thoughts:
I thought that the film was very inspiring, because I knew about the conditons in Africa (or anywhere), but I didn't really KNOW them. After the movie I think that I really got a good view on how the conditions are, and I'm ready to help.

Story:
On April 29, our church youth group is planning to walk from Rogers, Arkansas to Fayetville Arkansas and is planning on sleeping on the streets. Today, kids are handing out small strips of paper with www.invisiblechildren.com to find out about what is happening overseas and what they can do to help. We are trying to gather more and more people to walk with us on the movement.

I think the film is an inspiration to youth that they CAN change the world no matter their age, talents, or level of education.

Thoughts:
Before I was exposed to the documentary I felt the Lords calling in my life to pursue missions or some kind of nonprofit organization in order to offer my gifts to underpriviledged people worldwide. I then saw the film at Passion '06. Since this time, the story has invaded my mind and really "messed" with me. The film has literally opend my eyes and I am thankful. I think the film is an inspiration to youth that they CAN change the world no matter their age, talents, or level of education. Just take that step.

Inspiration:
Inspiration has been commitment, need, responsibility, duty. resolution, awareness, action, money, and so much more

" Do not let them look down on you because you are young. . . ."

Story:
After seeing the film I was burdened to do anything I could do to bring the story to my friends, school, and state. I bought the DVD and sent one to a friend in ATL. I told my small group I had a video that I wanted to show them, so one evening I brought it to smal group, which is a collection of childhood/college friends plus special guests: friend's husband and his two friends. We watched and I was moved to tears agian. After watching no one really said anything. I don't think they had ever been exposed to anything so raw. Even though we come from a small town of world travelers, a seminary, a Christian college, several mission organization headquarters, and seven churches, I think they really didn't know what to say. However, silence was broken when one friend exclaimed to another, "Oh my gosh! You got braces!" I felt as though my heart had been run over and spat on. From this statement you might think we are a bunch of middle or high schoolers. We're not! We're college graduates. We have family members who were or are currently serving people in other parts of the world. I couldn't beleive how unsocially aware or concerned these girls were. Though this was a less than possitive reaction, I did not lose my desire to "do my part" although I did drop the ball for a while. I have helped secure a screening at my church and I am promoting GNC to my small group. Luckily, they are intersted. Because I think about the "situation" in Uganda ALL the TIME, I am seeking to use my education in Health Promotion in a way to serve people in extreme need for food, health, safety, education, security . . . . No matter where my degree takes me I just want to help people. It would be my DREAM to one day work with IC and help bring security and health to the children and nation of Uganda as well as all people in Africa. If the oppurtunity arose it would be difficult for me not to drop everyting and leave right to join the movement. However, I have one more year left in my Master's program and graduate assistanship. I visit the website daily to read updates and you don't understand (or maybe you do) the physiological anxiety that stirs in my soul. If I can't physically be involved with your organization I will never forget or stop taking action wherever I am.

Never stop what you're doing. We need everyone we can to make this work and to literally change the world.

Thoughts:
I thought it was the most inspirational film that I've ever seen.

Inspiration:
The movie was my inspiration. I think what inspired me the most was seeing the proof in the extras. It really is proof that this will all make a difference. And if we only change one life, it will all have been worth it!

Tell People:
Never give up. Even if it feels like all of your effort is in vain and you're not making a difference, the more people that know, the more potential for change that is out there. Never stop what you're doing. We need everyone we can to make this work and to literally change the world.

Story:
After following and promoting the campaign for several months now, my video finally arrived and I've since shown it to everyone I know. We're working with several churches in our area to try and have as many screenings as we can until our DVD wears out. We've had stickers, buttons, flyers and shirts made up to hand out and sell. With all the money that we make going to the Invisible Children we hope that our efforts will make a difference. We just started the sticker, button, shirt campaign, and, between the 12 of us in our group, we're hoping to spread the word quick. We're going to have more stickers made, more t-shirts, and possibly more buttons made.

I so badly wanted to ignore what I saw, but as soon as I looked into the eyes of those children I knew, I couldn't.

Inspiration:

Story:
As soon as I leave to go back home from school in a couple weeks. I will be showing this movie to the Sociology and History students in my father's class. I will also be showing this to my old youth group. I will be starting a blanket drive in my hometown to raise money and/or blankets to send to those children that have nothing. I hope that this little awareness I am raising and the little bit of charity work that I can do will help these people in need.
