Story:
My dearest friend, Anna Hurst, and I have begun to put together a benefit concert. Anna of vocals, and two other friends on guitar and djembe. It will be little talking just video clips and passionate music, relevant to the Invisible Children and their hardships and yearning. We don't want our names on ANYTHING, it will only be about the children, for the Ugandan kids from us American kids. We will charge $5 at the door and take up a love offering at the end, ALL proceeds going to the children. We booked a venue yesterday, we are praying for 250 people, a goal of $2500... but the place will hold 510 and we hope it will be overfilled! We prayed for only people to help who are passionate about the the children and will only help for the children and no other alternate reason. God has placed each person we need in our path! We meet with the lady who is in charge of the venue next week. The benefit will be for Saturday, April 21st. We have a good friend who is major in digtal arts and will be desinging amazing flyers and cards to pass our to EVERYONE we see. I have also been emailing and calling radio stations, schools, churches, buisnesses, etc. for support and to get the word out about the benefit.... We are having it 8 days before commute night to promote it! We are kicking off promoting and such March 2nd, the day the Invisible Children group will be coming to our school. we go to a small, private school so we are announcing it to our school body first and getting them all in on it too! Pray for us... we are ecstatic!

I knew that I couldn't ignore what I had just seen and heard. All I could think about was the face of Emmy. That was my biggest motivation of all: Emmy.

Thoughts:
It changed my life forever. It was an emotional roller coaster; one moment I would be laughing, a moment later I would be sobbing. This film changes lives. I have seen it change lives. I am proof.

Inspiration:
The inspiration for my IC Screening was hearing Jason speak at the Passion Conference '07 and seeing the Emmy DVD. He told us that we have the power to do so much, yet we do nothing. I knew that I couldn't ignore what I had just seen and heard. All I could think about was the face of Emmy. That was my biggest motivation of all: Emmy. I had to act. So I called to get a screening at Purdue and now I'm moving full steam ahead into Schools for Schools!

Tell People:
I am so excited to tell everyone that I am actually traveling to Gulu in May!I will be in Gulu from May10th-May23rd with a team from Purdue Christian Campus House helping the different programs that Invisible Children and other organizations have implemented there.

Story:
I went to the Passion Conferenece 2007 in Atlanta, GA. Jason spoke there and showed different media from Invisible Children. One of the films he showed was Emmy. I couldn't stop crying and I knew that I would never be the same. I couldn't stop thinking about Emmy. All of the sudden all of the problems in my life seemed so small. I was changed forever. So I immediately called you guys to schedule a screening at Purdue University. I was then informed that the Midwest Road Team was already coming! So for two weeks I worked with a small group of people to spread the word about the World Tour coming to Purdue. We made hundreds of flyers, wrote emails, made facebook events, called everyone we could possibly think of, and just did whatever we could to get people to come discover the unseen. On January 19th, 2007 at 8:30 pm, 450 Purdue students came to see Invisible Children: Rough Cut. That night the Midwest Team sold over $2,400 in IC merchandise!!!!! They told us it would be one of the largest events on their tour. We were so exctied!!! By the way, John and Katie, you are probably two of the best dancers I have ever seen! We were also so amazed by how many people wanted to get involved after seeing the movie. We had three full Excel worksheets full of emails and phone numbers of people wanting to joing the movement! And now we're getting Schools for Schools going at Purdue University! We have a feeling it will be a huge success here!!

Getting clothes to the children in africa

Tell People:
Hi.

Story:
i went to the library after school with my friend Hannah. I was going because i thought i was going to get extra credit (which i did) but i had no idea it was going to effect me as much as it did. I decided to buy a bracelet and i liked it alot. I got home and watched the video. the video was about a boy named Innocent. I noticed that all the children's clothes were torn and dirty, and that it is probably all they had. So i am trying to get a project started at my church that we get all kinds of clothing in all sizes to send to Uganda and other places in Africa. I hope i can accomplish this goal and change some lives. :)

Showed the DVD to my youth group, about 20 kids. This month we are teaming up with 2 other churches to show the DVD at a theater and having a Yard Sale the next day. All the money we raise will go straight to IC. We the Youth of Hilo, Hawaii want to share Aloha Ke Akua with the Youth of Northern Uganda, Africa.
