I couldn't let that just sit on my conscience while I went about my good life. I needed to do someting to change it!

Thoughts:
I love this film!! It has changed my entire way of thinking about things!

Inspiration:
When I saw the IC movie last year... I saw one of the kids crying for the loss of his brother..... I couldn't let that just sit on my conscience while I went about my good life. I needed to do someting to change it!

If you have never gone to Global Night Commute of Displace Me, you should! It was the most amazing thing that I have ever experienced. I know that doing this has changed my life and outlook on wordly troubles.

Story:
So last night April 28, 2007 I went to Displace Me in San Francisco. It was amazing! I was so happy to see all of the people that want to change the lives of Ugandan people! I wanted to try to get as close to the experience as I could so I walked around all night with no shoes and no jacket... even though it was windy, very cold, and foggy! I dont know if the kids in Uganda wear shoes or not but I assumed that some of them didnt, plus I dont have to walk for miles to get water, or to find a safe place to sleep, so I wore no shoes and no jacket in replace of that. I also brought a sleeping bag that had a hole in it beacause I know that having to sleep on the ground in little tiny huts cannot be that comfortable... so having the torn sleeping bag was in its place. I really felt that I was making a difference in peoples lives!! Actions Speak Louder Than Words!

This movie will change your life. No lie...

Story:
After I watched the documentary, I began to research...and research....and RESEARCH. I had to know how to get started because I was determined to begin to make a difference. I found out about Displace Me and immediately began to beg my parents to let me go. They may not have liked the idea of me sleeping out in a field with strangers and cardboard and eat nothing but saltine crackers and water, but I had made up my mind that I was going haha. I was able to go with some friends and it was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had the privilege to witness. I seriously felt like I was part of changing the world! My passion for helping the people in Uganda won't stop there! I am currently trying to organize a car wash and all the money will be donated to the IC cause. I hope to one day go to Uganda but for now I am doing all that I can and learning as much as I can about Invisible Children and its cause. Never Stop!! =]]

I am now more committed than ever to fight for the Northern Ugandan people so they can live in peace and prosperity.

Thoughts:
I thought the film was a huge eye-opener to the daily struggles that the Acholi people endure.

Inspiration:
To tell everyone about these beautiful people and to inspire others to become a part of the solution for change.

Tell People:
Do all that you can to support Invisible Children. Show the movie, go to events like Displace me, tell everyone you know, buy a bracelet or charity water, and write to your senators. Change starts with you and it can start today.

Story:
I watched the film after some members in my family told me about the night commuters and they handed me the DVD to watch. As I sat in my living room with my three children and my husband I could not help but cry. My heart was instantly touched and I now tell everyone I can about the Northern Ugandan people and their struggle for peace. On April 28th 2007 I attended Displace Me in Pittsburgh and it was truely an awesome experience. I am now more committed than ever to fight for the Northern Ugandan people so they can live in peace and prosperity.

My pastor told me that they were gonna make and sell the shirts at Break Away and that all the money would go to invisible children.

Thoughts:
I was inspired by the film. it really challenged me and God spoke to me through it. at the end of the film when it said to use your tallents to help these children i wondered how i could use my love for fashion to help these kids. i went home and prayed and asked God how i could use my talents to help these kids, and what my talents even were because i have no idea.

Inspiration:
well the movie inspired me, even though we didnt do a showing w/ the shirts we have showed the video and many more in our youth grup.

Tell People:
if you wanna do something dont give up or think you cant do it. tell your friends your ideas on how to help and do it. your friends will help you and you will find a way. God has given everyone talents and He will show you a way on how to use them for Him and for these kids, all you have to do is ask and be faithful.

Story:
He put an idea in my head to design a shirt and sell it to raise money. so i went to one of the leaders in my youth group, Eric Dunker, and gave him a rough drawing of what i wanted the shirt to look lik. i needed him to make it on the computer because i didnt know how to do it. The only problem was finding a way to raise money to get the t-shirts printed and then finding a way to sell them. My friend Nicole and i thought about having a benefit concert and selling the shirts there. But those plans ended up falling through. I kind of gave up on the t-shirts after that because i just didnt know what to do. then in the winter before our big retreat my pastor told me that they were gonna make and sell the shirts at Break Away and that all the money would go to invisible children. i was so excited. they changed the design around a bit but they turned out great. i dont actually know how much money we raised but i do know we have some extra and people keep buying them randomly.

I've longed to find something like this that can have such an impact on so many lives. I want to go to Africa. I want to visit these places and see on hand what you all are doing for these people.

Stephanie VanDeusen

I want to make an impact, even if it is small, for I know that even the smallest of things can help lead to bigger solutions

Thoughts:
I personally found the film to have a rather huge impact on my perspective of things. It was an amazing story that was very well told and actually captured the entire attention of my classroom and honestly made me want to be able to do something.

Inspiration:
We are discussing the Holocaust in my Junior Literature and Composition class, and my teacher wanted to show us the film to let us know that there is still such horror, terror, and fear in this world and that it does not seem to stop. She wanted to show us that there is still a kind of Holocaust that is going on, and people are too wrapped up in themselves and this "Terrorist War" that they pay no attention to things that could possibly be far more important.

Tell People:
You should take into consideration the people of the world, not just your own country. We need to actually help those who need our aid, instead of running off to fight a more than pointless war that is not going to get us anywhere. We need to focus on what is going on now, we need to understand the horrors that lay within this world, and we need to do something to help stop it all.

Story:
For awhile now, I have wanted to be a journalist, to travel around and write about such horrors that are in this world. Upon seeing this "movie", my mind was more made-up and decided than it had been previously. I want to make an impact, even if it is small, for I know that even the smallest of things can help lead to bigger solutions. This film opened a lot of peoples eyes and will continue to do so, or so I can hope, as it has really opened up my own much farther than they already were. I now have a strong desire and urge to start a club at my high school and help fund this entire idea, and help it grow more. There is something that I can do, and that is help. I want people to know what is going on, I want them to be aware of what is happening in this world, they have the right to know. So, I want to start a club, help do different things while in the club, raise money, and just help any way that I can.

Thoughts:
I thought it was an "eyeopening expierience and the situations in Africa need/should stop immediatley.

Inspiration:
I want to now, when I get older or maybe at my age right now, work for Invisible Children or even another oraganization to help stop the wars in Africa and spread the word.

Tell People:
GET INVOLVED, we are so lucky to live in U.S. we need not to take advantage of our country and help the people who need it

Story:
I first saw the film at a church meeting about wars in Africa. I never knew or thought about Africa much. Now I am completey involed, sending letters to the U.S. Government and starting a club at my school for Invisible Children,
