Get your friends, get some food, show the movie, and affect change.

Thoughts:
The film, i feel, was so well put together. I think, however, that goes without saying. True the story should be enough to move one to take action, but im sure this story has been written somewhere for years. the movie put us there, and that made all the difference.

Inspiration:
Inspiration: My inspiration was that mere fact that this story is so aweful and not many people know about it. I felt that the word must get out and that i was responsible for that.

Tell People:
If you want to change the world, you can. My Scholars project made the Alumni Newspaper that gets sent out to anyone who has ever attened or graduated from my school. That many more people will be able to hear about this problem. I am throwing another house party in two weeks. Get your friends, get some food, show the movie, and affect change. It has to be us. We are the ones who will make the difference.

Story:
Ok. So my best friend Francesca was telling about how her sister was having a movie viewing of this movie about kids in Africa. I couldnt go to the viewing because of work but i told her i still wanted to see it eventually. I ended up going to their house the next day and after church we sat down and started the film. Little did i know that my life would be changed forever, I cried with Jacob. I cried for the children. The minute the "proofs" were over i went to the computer and went the the IC website. I tried to order the bracelet but it was back-ordered. So i got the T-SHirt. Then i turned to Francesca (Frankie) and said, "I have to bring this to school." I sent messages through Facebook and Myspace. I put up flyers, i got on the school news. The outcome? 35 students and 6 teachers showed up. It was awesome.

The kids in Uganda are my inspiration. my heart goes out to them.

Thoughts:

Story:
In my public speaking class, we had to give presentations on something we were passionate about and i chose this to share with my class. i even showed the "i got soul" video to give them a feel to what this movement is all about. at the end, i felt wonderful knowing i educated others about this because it deserves to be known about.

It's amazing how many diffrent kinds of people are willing to help, to sacrifice and donate time and money. It truly is amazing!

Thoughts:
I think it is a powerful catalyst, and well made too. I can't wait to get my own copy so I can start showing it!

Inspiration:
Inspiration, well I wanted to start team I.C.F.W since there was nothing for the Invisible Children in Fort Wayne, besides a myspace. I really want to be a part of this. I want a chance to show God's love to the children of Uganda.

Tell People:
Too many people go over to other countries, hand out tracts, then come back to the comfort of there homes. It's not enough to TELL of God's love, you have to SHOW it.

Story:
I've always had a heart for the exploited children of africa. I didn't have any idea how serious it was, then my friend told me about the global night commute, I didn't know what it was about so I didn't go, then my friend Lee started telling me more about it. I was devastated that I hadn't gone to Global Night Commute, and I became determind to make it up. I threw myself into team IC Fort Wayne, I'm gathering people, spreading the word, and using your commander cards and such to organize things to get the word out. I made info packets about IC and the crisis in Uganda and Sudan. I made a sign and got 50 free copies of it from various print shops. I'm so excited and happy about what God's going to do.

My inspiration was watching the trailer for the movie at a NHS meeting. It was a eye opener and really got my attention.

Tell People:
Get involved with this because even the littlest things can help!

Story:
On February 23, 2006 we had a screening of this movie at my school. I go to Colton High School and this was put on by out National Honor Society (NHS). It was brought to our attention at a NHS meeting by our President. NHS is all about helping out our community as much as we can and this time we went outside our community and helped those in another country. We raised a lot of money for Invisible Children from walking around school collecting donations from anyone who would give anything and having a screening. One day walking around, my committee and I collected over $500. At the screening we got over 500 people to attend. All the money collected that night went to the Invisible Children. Kids were talking about this movie at our school for a long time, they still do and the kids that didn't go see it are always ask if we are going to show it again. We are going to show it again this year for NHS. Being more experienced with it, we know what to do, and what more we can do.

I really do live for Invisible Children now, it is my burning passion.

Thoughts:
I personally think the film is awesome. It has inspired me in many ways. I have booked many screenings to show the movie, and so many people (like pastors) complain about the killing the snake part, and the throwing up, but I really think it adds to it, and shows what "really" happened.

Inspiration:
Knowing that we could raise money and give it to you. Giving money to you is considered an honor to me.

Tell People:
I have a burning passion for invisible children. I won't stop until the war is done, i wont even stop then.

Story:
It all started in Febraury 2006 when my teacher showed my whole class the rough cut version of the film (the whole thing, not the 35 minute version). The movie was not yet over when the class bell rang, but she stopped it, and I went up to her knowing I would be the only one, and be late to my next class, I asked to finish the film. She willing said yes, and I finished it. After it was over she continued to say that she booked a screening spot on the national tour for our school. I then had a project assinged in which we could do it over anything (it just had to be 15 full typed pages). I then decided that i would complete the project about Invisible Children, and interview the people who came for the tour. The day the tour was at our school, i was able to spend a whole period interviewing them, and talking with them. They are the people who inspired me to act. That I got ahold of a couple friends, and we got started planning. We put together a whole organization in less than two weeks and started in about three. We founded "The Invisible Children Organzation of Lincoln East High School". We then started planning our first fundraiser, where we got east students to write childrens books for the child in N. Uganda, and set aside a day (Apr. 21st, 2006). We got food donated to sell, order 50 DVDS, and made t-shirts. We made 830.00 of that first fundraiser which we plan to send to you (invisible children) when we reach our goal of ten thousand dollars. We then started working on Lincolns GNC, which i helped organize, where we made t-shirts and gave them away for free, we made it on T.V., and so on. After GNC, i decided that it was time to go city wide, and the high school so called club expanded from 10 people to many as we took on the task of the city. We are currently a city org, deticated to raising money towards our goal, where we are now working on a benefit concert set for September 29th, 2006. As for me, I currently plan to attend college in San Deigo, hoping that Invisible Children would allow me to work for them. I would do anything to work for IC. Anything. When the WORLD TOUR came about, I talked to my mom about taking a year of high school off to do it, but i found out you have to be out of high school, so thats no good. But if there is future tours, I plan to apply. I also wish to go to Uganda and see it first hand with you guys, even if it would cost me $100,000 i would still do it. I really do live for Invisible Children now, it is my burning passion. You have inspired me to act. I have purchased the bracelet, movie, and t-shirts.

We all need to come together as a nation and put and end to indifference.

Thoughts:
People look at this movie and might cry, they might get encouraged to do something. There might even be people that have no sympathy whatsoever. I was completely changed. My life basically made a 180 degree spin, totally flipped inside out. It was just amazing. But, me being my age, I couldn't do much so I just did all I could.

Inspiration:
...I watch it every chance I get. It puts me on fire, gets my adrenaline pumpin'. I can't explain it well, It's just this intoxicating feeling in a good way that makes me want to do what ever I can.

Tell People:
You are never too young or old to volunteer for this, there is no reason why you shouldn't. It should be a priority. We all need to come together as a nation and put and end to indifference. Crush the World's influence and replace it with Jesus Christ!

Story:
I want to help you guys. I keep praying. It's just my dream, my passion. I have always had this need, this desire to help people. I have to help people and do whatever I can, I'm so on fire and motivated, that I'm able to do this and just wait. It get's tiring and majorly painful, but I learn to live and love it.

I am so excited that the people of my community are going to be able to read about what is happening in Uganda and I hope and pray that they will take action.

Thoughts:
I thought the film was wonderful. Very eye-opening and well-shot. Though it was sad, it showed the situation in a very true light.

Inspiration:
I am still working on getting a screening of the movie. But it will happen soon!

Tell People:
Let's don't give up on this! We can change things. I have no doubt about that. God is with us.

Story:
I just got a letter to the editor of my local newspaper published! I am so excited that the people of my community are going to be able to read about what is happening in Uganda and I hope and pray that they will take action.

Story:
Our church on Sep. 24 held a silent auction and we gave all the proceeds to you guys...I plan to take it a step further. Some friends and I are going to talk to the three principals of the three school here in Lee's Summit, MO. I've been showing the video to ALL my friends, my father owns businesses, one of them is a reception hall, so we use that and show large sums of people all at once.

I couldn't believe that a problem like this was going on for so long.

Thoughts:
It was amazing. It's deeply moved me to take immediate action in my school and community. I couldn't believe that a problem like this was going on for so long.

Inspiration:
My pastor kept talking about "the next service" and how intense it was goign to be but didn't say anything else. So obviously out of suspense I went.

Tell People:
I don't want to just tell people. I want to move people the way the film moved me. Either by showing the movie at any opportunity possible or by organizing fundraisers. Anything to help out my brothers and sisters in Uganda.

Story:
My story? It's not really special or anything. I'm just a naive teenager who really never before had ever thought could make a different. But then I saw the film and was enlightened completely. I'm now motivated to raise awareness in my school and community with fundraisers and anything else. I'd love to someday get out to Uganda and do some hands on work. Completely inspired.
