In Full Effect
September 4th, 2006

We know. We know. It’s been awhile, but we’re back and in full effect. You’re probably wondering where we’ve been since the GNC. Well, we’ve been working hard to get things ready for this coming school year which is just about here. So get ready there are LOTS of updates.

Speaking of the school year...we’ve got 2,500 screenings for the U.S. for World Tour 2007 and guess who’s going to fill them up? YOU! Put on your bookie hats and fancy pants and book ONE assembly at your school. Imagine…an inspirational Invisible Children assembly to replace that bland one about the history of indigenous animals in your region. We’ve got the goods to persuade ANY administrator, so email movement@invisiblechildren.com to get hooked up. We’ll help you go from zero to hero for the kids of Northern Uganda.

The Education Program has taken off like never before and it’s only going to get better. The program is growing faster than our boy Innocent (who has grown taller than Jay, the IC accountant, at a whopping 6’7). This fall there are 500 kids in school through IC! That’s crazy considering that each is sponsored through the rest of their education, with mentors encouraging them to shine like superstars.

Someone else that we love to see shine is our girl Grace. Grace is the new green bracelet and is our first story of a girl and a child mother. Her story will rock you to the core so be sure to check it out. She’s an inspiration to us all.

And now for the most important update. We have to mention the peace talks that are currently going on in Northern Uganda. We’ve received tons of emails from you guys wanting to know how we feel about the peace talks. Well, we’re excited, of course! And we firmly believe that these peace talks are a direct result of your voice and presence at the Global Night Commute. We are hopeful that this war will end, but we also know that the LRA has backed out of peace talks in the past. When a peace treaty is signed we will celebrate. However, to clear up any confusion, if the war does end it does not mean that our work in Northern Uganda is done. We’re nowhere near done. In fact, that is when our work really begins. Please continue to support the people of Northern Uganda. They need you now more than ever. For up to date info on what’s going on in Northern Uganda check out our friends at www.ugandacan.org.

And don’t forget to keep coming back to these updates like it’s homeroom. Espresso in the form of inspirational stories keeps coming through the phone and email, so stay tuned we’ve got lots of updates coming your way.
